Tell us about your sports & fitness background
I lifted weights and ran occasionally. Most of my physical activity came from sports like skateboarding, basketball, and body boarding.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?
I have several friends that are into CrossFit. I always wanted to give it a try, but would tell myself it would be to hard and to just keep sitting on the couch.
Most recently my friend Gabe asked me if I wanted to check out GutWrench CrossFit with him and I did. Turns out I love CrossFit.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF? (before / after)
I started working out with GutWrench in December 2015 and I weighed 250 lbs. This was the heaviest I’ve ever been.
Quickly I began to see results. My clothes started not to fit me and my spirits were always high.
As of today 6/7/16, I weigh 220 pounds. I’ve lost a total of 30 lbs while attending GWCF and I feel great!
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
The biggest change for me is that I have a lot of energy. I no longer wake up and stay tired all day.
I now wake up and have a lot of energy until I am done for the day. That is what I like the most.
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / GWCF moments.
I enjoy coming into class and being able to do a hard workout while having a good time.
I like to share laughs with the team.
Any advice for people just getting started?
